Swissdaytours was a a complete WIN. My Husband found Mark Huggenberger and Swissdaytours very last minute. But was truly Lucky to have found him. Mark was an amazing tour guide. Switzerland to us was a bit confusing so Mark made our experience stress free and enjoyable to see amazing views of the Matterhorn and Mount Titlis. Mark is very knowledgeable and has the timing down to a T. Both my husband and I highly recommend Mark and his company. I could go on and on of our Beautiful tour of Matterhorn and Mount Titlis. Gorgeous spectacular and truly magnificent.

"Best guide ever".  Booking the guided tour from Zurich along the Bernina train route to Tirano and back with Mark was wonderful.
From beginning to end it was stress free, very easy to book and reassuring confirmation of the trip plans.  Mark met us outside our hotel and stayed by our side informing and guiding us at our pace and giving us options to suit what we wanted to do.

We had thought about organising it ourselves and going on the Bernina train.  So glad we didn't.  We travelled on the same route and in 1st class so comfortable, and we had room to move around, swap sides to look at the amazing views and stick our heads out the windows that pulled down.  One of many highlights on the tour, the fresh air on our faces as we took in the sights and got some amazing photographs without the glass in the way.  The scenery is fantastic, the Brusio spiral viaduct, glaciers and Alp Grum were even better than we imagined!

It is a long day starting at 6.15 am at our hotel and we got back about 7 pm, but it was very relaxing with Mark, some of our family even had a nap on the train!  He was so informative about Switzerland as well as the Bernina route and any questions we had he answered or found out the answer.  The information booklet, fact files and pictures he showed us, our pizza lunch in Tirano, the little surprises on the way he gave us really made the journey go by so well.  He was very attentive and really listened to us going above and beyond, helping us even after we got back to Zurich main station at the end of the trip (when he had been up since 4 am!), so that we knew what tram to get and how to visit other Zurich sites much easier the next day.

As our 12 year old  son summed it up it was "perfect"!  Thank you Mark for amazing memories!   If we ever go to see the Matterhorn and Zermatt we know who to go with!

I just wanted to share that this Switzerland trip was one of my favorite travel experiences ever and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to see & experience so many beautiful places without the usual frustrations that often accompany the tourist “situation” (transit struggles, going to the wrong places or not knowing the best and most worthwhile places to go, waiting around for a lot of slow or late people, helping with the language barrier, etc) — all thanks to Mark at Swissdaytours.

He put up with (and helped us with) our many photo-taking ops (we couldn't help ourselves when the countryside was so beautiful, so sorry Mark!😁). He also made everything feel so easy, organized and figured-out despite the obvious complexity of the extensive (and complex, though impressive) Swiss train system, which will make any American realize that some version of a Utopian world does exist in the present day, it's just not in America, it's in Switzerland. Last but not least, we all really appreciated Mark's excellent sense of humor and personality. He was a fun (not as in crazy or wacky, but just a cool, chill, intelligent & kind) person to have as our guide with a lot of interesting things to say. He provided a refreshing perspective & energy to our small group of 3.

As the person who is usually left to plan and sort out all the logistics and put in the research to determine the right places to go when my husband and I travel, I found it incredibly comforting and relaxing to have Mark's native "insider" knowledge and expertise to guide the way so that I didn't have to stress about being the person in charge of figuring it out all out so we didn't waste our time and money and opportunity to have the best experiences.

It cannot be overstated that we really loved & appreciated the flexibility that Mark gave us to take as much or little time as we preferred at the different places we visited. Most tours confine you to their own set schedule and it can cut you short leaving you wishing you had more time to focus on the parts that really mattered to you, whether that's exploring a certain castle or museum or park, or spending a more luxurious amount of time for a meal on an outdoor patio, or taking longer to do some shopping, or whatever else you want to do. Given that the weather on a few specific days made it hard for us to see the mountains (for example, we had planned to try and see the Matterhorn but it was too cloudy), Mark was always prepared and provided us with backup plans and alternatives to consider the day prior and morning of so we could decide how to pivot. He also had access to some impressive weather technology that went far beyond the average consumer weather app (like, it's the stuff farmers and scientists use) that gave him and us a lot more information to work with to determine probability of being able to experience certain places with or without rain or clouds affecting the situation. Very helpful.

Mark's command of the English language was also very impressive and spoiled us for sure. He speaks more eloquently than most college educated Americans I know. I always try to at least do a crash course to learn some functional basics of the native language wherever I travel outside of America, but fell short this trip due to some timing constraints. He definitely helped me feel less out of my depth (as did the many other kind Swiss people who took care of us at the various places we dined at and visited).

If you're on the fence about booking a tour with Mark at Swissdaytours, don't be. Just do it. I would easily repeat this experience again and plan to go back again some day.

We had a wonderful experience with Mark. We traveled all the way from Zurich to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn and it was more than worth the trip. Mark also did a good job educating us on various aspects of the country. It was a wonderful experience!

Mark was a superb guide that took my wife and I on the glacier express max option. It was truly a pleasurable experience that we will cherish and have fond memories of.
